My mom and I brought my 9 year old german warmblood, Spartan, to Tony last week. Spartan was very sweet in his stall but when I would bring him out of his stall he would get very nervous. We couldn’t have him in the isle or anywhere near a saddle. He was hurt almost a year ago and we fixed the pain and the problem but he was still fearful of what the saddle could mean. Although he was sweet on the ground, he didn’t listen well and didn’t have much respect for me. After only a few days with Tony he was being saddled and following Tony around like a puppy. It was an incredible process to watch. What was even more incredible was the almost- effortlessness that it required for Tony and I to transfer that respect to me. One of the best parts of Tony’s process is that he doesn’t just help your horse over his issues, but he teaches you how to maintain the respect and communication he shows your horse. We are bringing Spartan home today and I am very glad to have an even better relationship with him than before. Thank you Tony!!!
